Health officials also released data Wednesday about COVID-19 cases in local long-term care facilities and the Dallas County jail.

Six more inmates have tested positive, bringing the total to 29, according to Dr. Philip Huang, director of Dallas County Health and Human Services. Two Dallas News detention officers have previously tested positive, Huang said.

Brentwood Place One in Pleasant Grove has the most cases of COVID-19 — 38 — among the county’s long-term care facilities, Huang said.

Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson separately released demographic Press Release Distribution Services In Dallas information about the county’s coronavirus-related fatalities.

Of the 20 victims, eight were white, six were Hispanic, five were black and one was “other," Johnson said. Thirteen of the patients were 65 or older.

“All these deaths are tragic,” Johnson said in a tweet. “Tracking this data will be important as we fight this pandemic.”
